Changes expected as Fulham and QPR face tricky cup ties

Bosses Slavisa Jokanovic and Steve McClaren are set to make changes

Fulham and QPR are both set to make changes for their respective Carabao Cup third-round ties tonight.

The Whites are away to Millwall and Rangers visit Blackpool, with the managers of both west London sides planning to use some of their fringe players.

QPR boss Steve McClaren has included a number of youngsters in his squad for the trip north.

West London Sport revealed on Monday that his squad does not include Geoff Cameron or Angel Rangel, but does include Grant Hall.

Hall, who is continuing his comeback after a long-term knee problem, is hoping to feature at Bloomfield Road.

But Rangel and Cameron, who both missed Rangers’ home defeat against Norwich on Saturday, have been rested.

Cameron is building up his match fitness following his recent loan move from Stoke and was suffering from fatigue towards the end of his full debut for the R’s, in last week’s win over Millwall.

Veteran defender Rangel is nursing a groin strain so youngster Osman Kakay is likely to get another chance at right-back.

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic might be tempted to experiment at The Den.

The Serbian was far from happy with his team’s woeful defending in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Watford and vowed to find a solution.

“This is my job,” Jokanovic said. “I must work with them and discover what I don’t know about them.

“I must know who can offer me what level in different situations. I have made one lap checking all of these players who have played with me right now and on Tuesday night I will probably have another test for players to discover something new.”

Tonight’s games come 24 hours before Chelsea and Brentford will face third-round ties at Liverpool and Arsenal respectively.
