Hampton & Richmond are furious after losing highly-rated youngster Dan Thompson to Portsmouth without receiving a penny for the young striker.
Thompson has joined Pompey on a one-year deal and is set to join Blue Square South side Havant & Waterlooville on loan.
Portsmouth were not obliged to offer any money for the player, who has been with Hampton for four years.
But the Beavers hoped Pompey would include some financial reward for them as part of the deal and say they are disappointed the Championship club are not prepared to do so.
“For a club the size of Portsmouth – paying players tens of thousands of pounds a week – not to even make a goodwill donation, disappoints us and leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth,” said Hampton chairman Steve McPherson.
And McPherson added that his club may now be reluctant to allow their players to join league teams on trial.
Thompson was given permission to train with Stoke, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and QPR prior to his move to Fratton Park and was on the radar of several other clubs.
“This will ahave an effect on our policy for allowing players to go on trial with professional clubs – in future we will look to protect our own interests first,” said McPherson.
“I really believe that the FA and the Premier League need to look at the double standards in place with regards to these situations and work with non-League clubs such as ourselves to resolve them.”

As a Pompey fan, the past two years have numbed me so this event hasn't shocked me. Just add it to the bottom of the list:
5 owners in a year, all dodgy
First PL club to go into administration with debts of £120m
Didn't pay charities and St John Ambulance (at least the fans have)
Still haven't paid any of the non football creditors under the CVA
Charged the family of club legend Len Phillips to hold a wake rather than forgoing any profit.
Fratton Park only just got it's Safety Certificate after some much needed attention.
As a Saints fan, I have to say that nothing surprises me with the blue few.
It is just another sign that they have no money and are trading insolvently.
Let's hope the FA take note, although I doubt it!
As a 64 year old Pompey supporter living in Aus for 42 years, I was getting excited about
NEW OWNERS putting this Great Club back on the map.
It is disgusting that a small club HRBFC have been treated this way.

I, as a Pompey fan, totally agree with the article. Although we are going through a "dodgy" period at the moment, we should still be offering some sort of reward to the club.
