Parker: Momentum is with Fulham after fine start

Fulham boss Scott Parker says he is pleased with the way his players have bought into his vision after a strong start to the Championship season.

The Whites ran riot at Craven Cottage on Wednesday, demolishing Millwall 4-0 to notch their third Championship win in a row as each of his attacking trio got on the scoresheet.

And with 85% possession — the highest any team has posted in the Championship since records began in 2013 — Parker is glad to see his philosophy being delivered on the pitch in style.

“The most pleasing thing is seeing your team execute all the work that’s gone into the past 10 weeks in pre-season against a very good Millwall side, who have started the season pretty well,” he said.

“Full credit to the players. They’ve been superb. From the start of pre-season, the information they’ve been given at times has been pored upon, but they’ve been so receptive, right behind the process.

“Ultimately, the only way you can perform like that is due to that fact. That’s the most pleasing thing for me. Momentum is with us, we’re winning football matches and confidence is high. Long may that continue.”

Fulham are a point behind Leeds and Swansea at the top of the Championship table, with attention quickly turning to another match at home to Nottingham Forest in less than 72 hours.

Parker added: “We realise how difficult this league is. We need to dust ourselves off, enjoy tonight, and come 10am tomorrow when the lads are back in at Motspur Park, we look forward to Forest on Saturday.”
