Mitrovic gives Fulham first away win

Bournemouth 0 Fulham 1

Aleksandar Mitrovic’s second-half penalty gave Fulham their second win in a row – and their first away victory of the season.

Mitrovic scored from the spot after being fouled in the area by Jack Simpson.

The Whites, whose relegation has already been confirmed, were under pressure early on but the home side then ran out of ideas.

Fulham goalkeeper Sergio Rico made several excellent saves, twice denying Callum Wilson to keep the visitors’ lead intact.

The mini-revival comes too late to keep Fulham up but it might well boost caretaker boss Scott Parker’s chances of getting the manager’s job.

It is the first time Fulham have achieved back-to-back wins in the Premier League since April 2014.
