Fulham youngsters beaten by West Ham in London Stadium first

Fulham’s Under-23s had the honour of playing in the first Premier League 2 game at the London Stadium but lost 2-0 to West Ham United.

Jack Grimmer went close for the Whites early on with a header from a corner which caught the top of the bar, but on 20 minutes they fell behind after a glorious finish from the edge of the box by Nathan Holland.

Fulham keeper Jesse Joronen denied Holland from a similar position and the crossbar came to the visitors’ rescue early in the second half as Dan Kemp let fly.

Steven Sessegnon, the twin brother of the highly-rated Ryan, twice shot at West Ham keeper Nathan Trott in the last 15 minutes, before Conor Coventry wrapped the game up late on.
