Reed passed fit to return against Saints

Harrison Reed has recovered from an ankle injury and is ready to face his former club Southampton.

Fulham’s ex-Saints midfielder has been back in full training since Wednesday.

“He’s come out of a couple of days’ training and he’ll be fit for the weekend,” Whites boss Scott Parker confirmed.

Defender Terence Kongolo is ruled out for the season and club captain Tom Cairney is slowly making his way back to full fitness.

Although the visit to St Mary’s is a dead rubber given that Fulham are already relegated, Parker insists players need to be mindful about their futures.

He said: “The players have a job to do. They’re in the biggest and the most spotlighted league in the world bar none, and every week you go out and have that spotlight shining on you.

“Relegated or not, there’s a pride and a professionalism, and that’s my message first and foremost to the team, and these are the moments where you really see what people are made of and what certain traits they have in their character.

“In this moment of adversity, there’s a lot of excuse for maybe one or another who doesn’t need to perform at this level – but the facts are they do.”
