Fulham keen to sign Targett from Southampton

Fulham are again looking to sign Matt Targett.

The left-back played a key role in the Whites’ promotion to the Premier League when he was on loan from Southampton during the second half of the season before last.

Fulham wanted to buy him last summer but were unable to agree a deal with Southampton and Targett, 23, stayed at St Mary’s

Fulham have reignited their interest in the player as manager Scott Parker looks to revamp his squad following the club’s relegation back to the Championship.

Targett made 21 appearances for Southampton last season, with 16 of them coming in the Premier League.
