Fulham are considering whether to table an improved bid for Ravel Morrison.
Head coach Rene Meulensteen is due to discuss the club’s next move with chief executive Alistair Mackintosh after West Ham rejected their offer for the midfielder.
Meulensteen knows the player well as he was part of Manchester United’s coaching team when Morrison was at Old Trafford.
And he has made it clear he believes Morrison, 20, wants to leave Upton Park and sign for the Whites.
West Ham do not want to sell, but Meulensteen is hoping an agreement can be reached.
“That’s what we’re hoping for,” said the Dutchman.
“I’ve left it with Alistair Mackintosh and explained what I think of the situation. I’ve made my desires clear.
“I’ll leave it up to the relevant people to take forward. We’ll review it, as I don’t know the ins and outs of why the bid was rejected.”
