Spurs again tipped to sign Sessegnon

Stories in Thursday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs….

There continues to be speculation over the future of Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon, who is expected to leave Craven Cottage this summer.

Tottenham have long been keen on Sessegnon – West London Sport revealed Spurs’ interest in him almost three years ago and more recently revealed that Manchester United had made an approach.

The Daily Star have now picked up on story by Bleacher Report suggesting that Liverpool want Sessegnon but that he would prefer a move to Spurs because he wants to stay in London.

It is claimed that Fulham will accept £35m for the teenager, who has a year remaining on his Whites contract.

Sessegnon looks likely to leave Fulham in the coming weeks

Meanwhile, Jorginho is ready to quit Chelsea and join Maurizio Sarri at Juventus, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Brazil-born Italy midfielder played under Sarri at Napoli prior to joining him at Chelsea last year.

Jorginho was his flagship signing and pivotal to Sarri’s style of play, so there has inevitably been speculation that the player will move to Turin.

And the Mirror declare that Jorginho is keen to reunite with the outgoing Blues boss.

The newspaper say comments by Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos suggest Jorginho is open to a move.

Jorginho faced plenty of criticism last season

Santos said: “Chelsea have a four-year contract with the lad. We’ll wait a few days to figure out whether there is any truth in this interest.

“His past at Napoli won’t be an issue, because Jorginho is a professional.

“Right now, Jorginho is happy at Chelsea. He found a great atmosphere and we can’t really say that he’d like to go elsewhere, but anything can happen on the transfer market. We’ll wait and see.”

Frank Lampard continues to be tipped to replace Sarri, with a number of newspapers suggesting the Chelsea legend is set to leave Derby and take over as manager at Stamford Bridge.

And  The Sun say Manchester City have beaten Chelsea to the £2m signing of 16-year-old winger Samuel Edozie from Millwall.
