West Ham v QPR player ratings

Loic Remy scored on his debut and QPR remain unbeaten in 2013, but Joe Cole’s equaliser denied them a victory. Here’s how we rated Rangers’ players in their 1-1 draw at West Ham.

Julio Cesar: 7
Knows how to make the most of saves – and one low down to his left to keep out a second-half header from Marouane Chamakh was a fine stop. More importantly, he is becoming more dominant as he adapts to the style of the English game.

Nedum Onuoha: 7
Continues to do well at right-back. Strong, quick and good in the tackle. Was a good signing by Rangers but has taken time to settle.

Ryan Nelsen: 7
Solid as usual, helping Rangers defend against a barrage of balls into the box.

Clint Hill: 7
As with Nelsen, this game suited Hill, who dug in and put his body on the line.

Fabio: 7
Another really encouraging performance from the on-loan full-back. Produced several moments of quality and an all-important clearance off the line.

Jamie Mackie: 7
Very good in the first half, causing West Ham problems early on. Then had to track back as Rangers came under sustained pressure.

Shaun Derry: 6
Second to the ball on occasions and one haphazard header almost led to a Hammers goal, but he battled hard and did his job.

Stephane Mbia: 8
Heroic display from the heart-on-sleeve midfielder. Produced two belting last-ditch challenges to deny Mohamed Diame, another crucial block in the closing stages and didn’t stop from start to finish.

Shaun Wright-Phillips: 6
Bright in spells and got through some important defensive work. Has gone from being poor to okay. But okay isn’t enough for Rangers at this crucial stage.

Adel Taarabt: 7
Outstanding in the first 20 minutes and delightfully set up a goal for Loic Remy having threatened to do so from the opening whistle. Worked hard again and when the going got tough was prepared to drop into midfield and mix it as well as pull the odd trademark trick out of the bag.

Loic Remy: 7
Took his debut goal very well and might have scored again had he made the most of an Mbia-led counter-attack late on, when West Ham were left two-on-three at the back.

Armand Traore: 6
Solid enough down the left side after replacing Wright-Phillips just before the hour mark.

Jay Bothroyd: 6
Came on for Mackie in the second half and was never likely to see much of the ball as West Ham dominated.
