Transfer gossip: Terry would consider Premier League move, Times say

Some of the recent transfer speculation involving Chelsea.

John Terry could join another Premier League club this summer, according to The Times.

The newspaper believes Terry, 36, turned down Stoke and West Brom as well as Bournemouth in January in order to stay at Chelsea.

But it is claimed that the Blues stalwart will consider staying in England if, as is widely anticipated, he leaves Chelsea when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Terry has been linked with clubs in Europe, China and the United States.

Barca linked with Chelsea trio

The Sun have picked up on a report in Spanish newspaper Marca claiming that Barcelona are showing an interest in Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.

It was suggested that the La Liga giants are preparing their transfer targets ahead of the summer, when current coach Luis Enrique is stepping down.

Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez and scout Urbano Ortega watched Chelsea’s win at West Ham on Monday and then saw Bayern Munich crush Arsenal in the Champions League 24 hours later.

Marca said the pair they were in London to watch the Chelsea trio and Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin.

The newspaper added that signing any of those players would not be easy for Barcelona because of their current Premier League salaries.

Azpilicueta signed a new contact at Chelsea in December and earlier this week the Daily Mirror reported Matic is in line for new contract offer from the club.
