Speculation over QPR duo in the final hours of the transfer window

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR…

Inevitably there is speculation over the futures of QPR duo Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips in the final hours of the transfer window.

West London Sport revealed in July that Rangers had rejected an offer from West Brom for Phillips and there has since been speculation that they might eventually thrash out a deal to sign him.

The Daily Mail claim Albion have offered forward Victor Anichebe and Jonas Olsson in exchange in an attempt to land the winger.

There has been much speculation over the futures of Austin and Phillips

The Daily Mirror also claim Albion have made another approach to sign Phillips ahead of the deadline.

Austin continues to be linked with various clubs. Bournemouth are now being touted as the favourites to sign the striker, who has also been linked with the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Tottenham and Everton.

The north-east media continually insisted that Newcastle were pursuing a deal to sign Austin despite no approach being made.

The Shields Gazette now say Newcastle could make a move for him in January if he does not leave Loftus Road before then.
