Transfer gossip: Norwich and Villa eyeing McCormack, Telegraph say

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs…

Aston Villa and Norwich are considering making a move for Fulham forward Ross McCormack, according to the Daily Telegraph.

McCormack signed a new contract at Craven Cottage in February after Middlesbrough failed with an attempt to sign him.

That contract reportedly includes a £12m release clause and the Telegraph say Fulham are preparing for McCormack’s departure this summer.

McCormack has been a key player during his time at Fulham

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s apparent hopes of signing midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan have been boosted after discussions over a new contract at Borussia Dortmund stalled, the Daily Mirror say.

The Armenia international, 27, is one of a host of players incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte is said to be keen to sign, while Arsenal are also reported to be interested.

Mkhitaryan’s current deal expires next year and he is said to want release clause included in any new contract, which his club apparently do not want to agree to.

Speculation continues over the future of John Terry, who is expected to leave Chelsea when his contract expires this summer.

Terry has been linked with clubs around the world

The Sun say the Blues captain is set to move to China on a £12m-a-year deal.

The Daily Express say he has held two meetings with Conte and still not been given any assurances over his future.

And the Daily Telegraph say Antoine Griezmann has told friends he is prepared to snub lucrative offers from the Premier League to stay at Atlético Madrid this summer.

Chelsea have been linked with the 25-year-old France international during successive transfer windows and are again said to be keen to sign him.
