Fernandes backs Redknapp and insists QPR are ‘playing hard’

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has again taken to Twitter to back Harry Redknapp amid speculation about the manager’s future.

Rangers, clearly missing sidelined striker Charlie Austin, have lost four of their last six matches and appear to be all but out of the race for automatic promotion.

That has led to reports that Redknapp could leave Loftus Road, with the likes of former Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola among those touted as possible replacement.

But Fernandes tweeted: “Nothing wrong with Harry. Team playing hard. Some defensive lapses. Need to tighten up. And of course score goals. Playing much better.”

He added: “Takes time to rebuild. May take years to get it right. There was little to build on. Give support to team. And hope for Charlie back.”

  • If you think this season has been bad, you obviously didn't go last season. I'm a season ticket holder and went to every match. Last season was a complete disaster in every way. This season has certainly been better but still disappointing.

We have got too many loan players and too many overaged players coming to the end of their careers. Injuries to key players have cost us big time. Play Offs at best for Rangers.

  • Fernandes is the most important person to please.
This season QPR have been drab unimaginative and lacking in cutting edge.
I am truely surprised with the players available that is the case.
Injuries to Austin, Johnson, Phillips, Faulin plus the poor form of Hoillet and what's happened to Zamora.
I am reluctant to watch QPR at the moment it is all so depressing.
Sorry as a member for years and season ticket holder prior to this season this is the worst season I can remember.
Last year QPR played well on a number of accessions didn't have a lot of luck but were one of the weaker teams in the end.
Let's hope Lady Luck shines on Mr Fernandes he always seems to be bright and cheerful.
I need him to sit next to me next game I'm sure I would feel better.
