Transfer gossip: Motta ‘defining contract’ at QPR

Italian defender Marco Motta seemingly believes he is set to complete a move to QPR.

The former Juventus right-back, 29, has been a free agent since leaving Watford at the end of last season following a short spell at Vicarage Road.

He was recently granted trial at Rangers and featured in friendly against Reading.

QPR are yet to make decision on his future but Italian media reports suggest Motta believes the club want to sign him.

“A trial at QPR? It wasn’t exactly a trial,” Motta is quoted as saying.

“QPR wanted to judge my physical condition, because I’ve been out of action for a few months. I’m currently in England and I’m defining my contract. I haven’t signed.

“Right now, what’s important for me is the project on the pitch and that’s why I decided to wait a bit of time. I’m enthusiastically ready for this new adventure.”
