The 29-year-old former Newcastle playmaker, now with Nice, has recently been linked with a move to Liverpool.
His representatives are looking to secure him a move back to England and he has duly been linked with Chelsea too.
Meanwhile, the Daily Star have picked up on reports in John Mikel Obi’s native Nigeria which have suggested the Chelsea midfielder is wanted by Valencia and that talks about a potential deal have taken place.
Chelsea are increasingly confident of signing Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, ESPN believe.
And Chelsea continue to be linked with Everton duo John Stones and Romelu Lukaku.
The Daily Mirror say Chelsea will make a fresh attempt to capture England defender Stones, having previously been unable to sign him.
The Sun, meanwhile, say Chelsea will battle with Manchester City to sign Stones this summer.
The newspaper declares that the two clubs will be involved in a ‘£40m war’ over the player.
Chelsea also continue to be tipped to make a move to re-sign Lukaku, having sold the striker to Everton in 2014.
The Star claim Chelsea plan to table a combined £90m bid for Stones and Lukaku, while the Express put the figure at £100m.
