Mourinho charged with improper conduct

Jose Mourinho has been charged by the Football Association with improper conduct after being sent off during Chelsea’s recent defeat at Aston Villa.

The Blues boss went onto the pitch to remonstrate with referee Chris Foy following the injury-time dismissal of Ramires, whose Chelsea team-mate Willian was also sent off during the game.

Mourinho has until 6pm on Monday, 24 March to respond to the charge.

He was critical of Foy after the match, even suggesting the official should not take charge of future Chelsea fixtures.

“Maybe it is helpful that the committee doesn’t send him to our matches,” said Mourinho.

“I don’t have the right to request that – I just think they have to analyse the situation and see. I think maybe it would be a good decision.”
