Lampard hails players after first Chelsea win

Frank Lampard said it was not just homegrown goalscorers Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount who shone in the 3-2 win over Norwich.

Abraham netted twice and Mount was also on the scoresheet – his second goal in two games – as Lampard oversaw his first win as Blues boss.

The club’s all-time top goalscorer said Mount and Abraham played well and need to be big players for Chelsea but so do Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma.

He said they are “players that are a still young, they have to grow up very quickly with personality and be leaders on the pitch.”

Lampard added: “Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic ran the game in midfield today.

“I am satisfied but relieved because we should have had the game tied up earlier because we had good chances and we controlled big parts of it.

“I am satisfied with the three points because Norwich is a tough place to come to. I am very pleased with the performance.”
