Hazard could be out for at least two weeks

Chelsea fear Eden Hazard could be out for at least a fortnight after the Belgian suffered a calf injury during their dramatic Champions League victory against Paris St-Germain.

Hazard limped off after 18 minutes of the quarter-final second leg at Stamford Bridge, where Demba Ba’s late strike took the Blues through on away goals.

It meant Hazard’s goal in Chelsea’s 3-1 first-leg defeat in France last week turned out to be crucial.

However, manager Jose Mourinho indicated after his team’s triumph that the influential playmaker faces a spell on the sidelines.

He was replaced by Andre Schurrle, who scored the home side’s first goal of the night.

Hazard’s condition will be assessed over the next 48 hours in order to determine the extent of the problem.

He is currently expected to miss the next two Premier League matches, against Swansea and Sunderland.

“It is a calf, and even when muscle injuries are not serious it is normally a couple of weeks out minimum, but I have no idea of the dimension of the injury,” Mourinho said.
