Hiddink plans to discuss Courtois’ comments

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink insists Thibaut Courtois is happy at the club but will ask the goalkeeper to clarify comments suggesting he could leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

While on international duty, Courtois was asked if he would be committing his long-term future to Chelsea, but was quoted as saying: “I do not say yes, I do not say no.

“I still have three years on my contract. We must see what Chelsea want. It is true that it [this season] has changed me.

“Until now I had always won a trophy every season. We hope that next season will be better.”

Hiddink said he had not read Courtois’ comments but reiterated the fact the Belgian remained under contract.

The Dutchman added: “What I know from him, he and his family like to be in London and at the club.

“I like to have the opinion of the player, because sometimes things can be a little bit miscommunicated.

“I think in this case, knowing him a bit, I’d like to talk to him. But I don’t want to overvalue the comments that he made.”
