Chelsea confirm Djilobodji’s Werder Bremen move

Chelsea have allowed defender Papy Djilobodji to join Werder Bremen on loan until the end of the season.

The Senegal centre-back only joined the Blues on transfer deadline day in September from Nantes, signing a four-year contract.

But he has played just one minute of first-team football, coming on as an injury-time substitute in the League Cup win over Walsall.

Djilobodji has been an unused substitute twice in the Premier League, most recently for the 0-0 draw at Manchester United last month, and previous Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admitted he was signed on recommendation.
