Transfer gossip: Chelsea eyeing Cook, Mail claim

Some of the recent transfer speculation involving Chelsea….

Chelsea are interested in Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook, the Daily Mail claim.

It is claimed that Chelsea, who have a wealth of midfield options, are monitoring the England international and see him as a potential signing.

The Mail say Liverpool are also interested in Cook, who returned to action last month after a long-term knee injury.

Leeds linked with Blues youngsters

The Sun have also picked up on a story claiming that Leeds want Reece James.

Football Insider claimed that Leeds are lining up a loan move for the defender should he fall out of contention at Chelsea – with a view to a possible permanent move should the Yorkshire club win promotion to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, London Football News say Leeds are keen on Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour.

Real still being linked with Kante

Real Madrid have again been linked with N’Golo Kante – and Chelsea have yet again been linked with James Rodriguez.

Kante has long been linked with the likes of Real, Paris St-Germain and Juventus, while James has been touted for a move to the Premier League during successive transfer windows.

And Spanish outlet El Demarque claim Real want to sign Kante from Chelsea and offer them Colombia international James as part of an exchange deal.

Speculation over Giroud

Inter Milan and Vancouver Whitecaps are among clubs interested in Olivier Giroud, it’s been claimed.

It comes after Giroud admitted while on international duty with France that he could seek a move in January if he continues to be overlooked at Chelsea.

Tammy Abraham has become firmly established as the Blues’ first-choice striker, leaving Giroud and Michy Batshuayi on the fringes.

The Sun say a move to Italy or even Canada could be in the offing for Giroud, who has struggled for game time since leaving Arsenal for Chelsea in 2018.

“I’m going to fight for my place at Chelsea and we will take stock of the situation in January,” French media reports have quoted him as saying.

“If you ask me whether I want to leave I’ll say ‘not necessarily’ – but other things enter the equation.

“I cannot be happy with what I have at the moment. I am 33 but I still have several good years left in me.

“I still have the legs and a profile that I think will enable me to keep playing at the top level.

“I feel in good shape physically and I lead a healthy lifestyle. I want to enjoy myself and play matches.

“That could be for Chelsea – who are my first choice – or elsewhere.

“But if they force me to make a decision I will do it – just like when I left Arsenal.”

Palace tipped to move for Batshuayi

Batshuayi is Crystal Palace’s “prime target” ahead of the January transfer window, the Daily Express claim.

Batshuayi ended last season on loan at Palace and The Express claim the Eagles are lining up a move but would need to pay £22m in order to buy the Belgian, who scored six goals in 11 starts for them during his time at Selhurst Park.

Pulisic ‘to consider future’

The Mail claim Christian Pulisic could consider his future in January if he is still being overlooked by Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.

Pulisic has failed to make an impact since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer and his first-team prospects currently look bleak.

Liverpool ‘leading Chrisene race’

Liverpool are leading Chelsea in a race to sign Exeter City youngster Ben Chrisene, it is claimed.

Chelsea were recently linked with Chrisene, having previously signed Ethan Ampadu from the Devon club.

The Sun claim Liverpool are looking to snap him up and have invited the 15-year-old youth international for a trial.

Chilwell touted for move

Chelsea have again been linked with Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell.

Manchester City are also said to be keen on the England international and were linked with him during the summer.

The Sun claim the two clubs are “leading the race” to sign Chilwell and that he could leave Leicester at the end of the season, when Chelsea’s transfer ban will cease.

The same newspaper has previously linked Chilwell with a potential move to Stamford Bridge, declaring that Lampard is an admirer of the player and sees him as a possible long-term left-back for Chelsea.

The Sun claim Leicester could get £50m for him and are looking for a replacement.
