Chelsea transfer gossip as Blues hunt for striker

Some of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Sky Sports claim Maurizio Sarri wants Chelsea to pay up to £50m for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson if the Blues boss is unable to bring Gonzalo Higuain to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea assistant boss Gianfranco Zola recently appeared to confirm the club are interested in the England international.

That sparked speculation over how much Chelsea would be willing to pay for Wilson.

And Sky Sports believe Sarri wants to go all out in pursuit of Wilson if a deal cannot be agreed for Argentine Higauin, who is currently on loan at AC Milan from Juventus.

Meanwhile, the Mail suggest West Ham could target Wilson in a big-money deal if Marko Arnautovic leaves.

It comes amid reports that Hammers striker Arnautovic is the subject of interest from Chinese clubs.

The Daily Star have claimed that Wilson, not Higuain. is Chelsea’s preferred signing as they hunt for a new striker.

The Star have also claimed that Bournemouth are demanding up to £70m for Wilson.

Both players are out of favour at Stamford Bridge and can leave, with Drinkwater having previously played under Whites boss Claudio Ranieri at Leicester, where they won the Premier League title.

Fulham are said to have shown the pair around the club’s training ground in an effort to convince them to make the move.
