Hudson-Odoi scores first senior goal in easy Chelsea win

Chelsea 4 PAOK 0

Callum Hudson-Odoi scored his first senior goal as Chelsea strolled to another Europa League win.

Hudson-Odoi, who hit the bar in the first half, netted just before the hour mark after Olivier Giroud had scored twice to put the Blues in complete control against 10-man PAOK.

Alvaro Morata completed a resounding Chelsea victory by scoring soon after coming on as a substitute.

Maurizio Sarri’s side, already sure of a place in the knockout phase, easily maintained their 100% record in the tournament this season.

PAOK were left facing an uphill battle after Yevhen Khacheridi was sent off after just seven minutes.

Khacheridi was shown the red card for bringing down Giroud, who would otherwise have been through on goal.

Chelsea inevitably dominated after that; Giroud and Hudson-Odoi each missed two chances and Ruben Loftus-Cheek was denied by a stunning save before the first goal eventually arrived on 27 minutes.

Pedro created it, laying the ball to his right to Giroud, who curled his shot into the corner of the net from just inside the penalty area.

Teenage forward Hudson-Odoi, starting a competitive game for the first time since Sarri took over as boss, almost doubled the lead when he cut in from the left and crashed a shot against the woodwork.

It was a temporary reprieve for the Greek side, who were completely overrun.

Giroud struck again eight minutes before half-time, finishing in emphatic fashion after being superbly set up by Cesc Fabregas, taking his recent goal tally to four in three matches.

Hudson-Odoi delighted the home fans when, after once again darting in from the left, he fired in the third.

And he was involved in the fourth, finding space on the right and delivering the ball in for Morata to head home.

Chelsea: Kepa, Zappacosta (Ampadu 63), Christensen, Cahill, Emerson, Fabregas, Loftus-Cheek, Barkley, Pedro (Willian 66), Hudson-Odoi, Giroud (Morata 74).
Subs not used: Caballero, Alonso, Jorginho, Kovacic.
