Chelsea are battling with Liverpool for the signing of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, the Sunday Mirror say.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen to buy the Germany international, who has been tipped to move to the Premier League.

Werner, 23, is among several players linked with Chelsea during this month’s transfer window.

The Sunday Mirror say Liverpool planned to move for him in the summer but are looking to sign him now in light of Chelsea’s supposed interest.


Chelsea want Bellingham, Sun on Sunday say

Chelsea are interested in highly-rated Birmingham City youngster Jude Bellingham, according to The Sun on Sunday.

The newspaper say Manchester United are ready to offer £15m for the 16-year-old in order to see off competition from the Blues.


Chelsea again tipped to sign Chilwell

Leicester’s England international Ben Chilwell continues to be linked with a move to Chelsea.

The Daily Mail say Leicester are preparing for Chilwell’s departure to Stamford Bridge this summer and have lined up Southampton’s former Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand as a potential replacement.

Chelsea are said to have delayed a move for Chilwell until then because their priority during this month’s transfer window is to sign a forward.


Barkley move blocked, Mirror say

Chelsea have turned down an approach from West Ham for Ross Barkley, according to the Daily Mirror.

The same newspaper previously reported that Hammers boss David Moyes was looking to sign Barkley on loan for the rest of the season.

Chelsea reportedly blocked the move but the Mirror say Moyes is still trying to agree a deal.


Blues set to sign PSG youngster – reports

Chelsea are reportedly set to sign teenage midfielder Kays Ruiz-Atil from Paris St-Germain.

The Sun are among the UK newspapers have picked up on reports in France that former Chelsea star Claude Makelele, who now has a behind-the-scenes role with the Blues, has helped broker a deal to take the 17-year-old to west London.
