Transfer gossip: Mirror say Southampton want Cahill

Southampton are interested in Gary Cahill, the Daily Mirror say.

Cahill has said that he will seek a move from Chelsea if he is still not a first-team player when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Mirror say Southampton, who play Chelsea on Sunday, want to sign him in order to shore up their defence.

Cahill has previously been linked with Manchester United and Watford as well as Championship clubs Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.


Chelsea linked with Tonali

The Sun have picked up on reports in Italy claiming that Chelsea are among clubs keen on Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali.

It is claimed that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants to sign the 18-year-old, who has been dubbed the ‘new Andrea Pirlo’ and is apparently rated at £6m.

The likes of AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and Roma are all apparently interested in Tonali, who has been called into the Italy Under-21 squad after impressing for their Under-19s.


Rugani linked again

Chelsea have again been linked with Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.

The Blues were interested in Rugani during the summer transfer window but could not agree a fee for the Italy international.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercate claim Chelsea could now be able to snap him after contract talks with Juve apparently stalled.


Chelsea’s interest in Elliot

Harvey Elliot’s senior debut aged just 15 has led to speculation about the highly-rated Fulham youngster’s future.

West London Sport revealed almost a year ago that Eliott, then 14, was being tracked by Chelsea and Manchester City.

He has since become the youngest-ever Fulham player, coming on as a substitute in the recent Carabao Cup win at Millwall.

And London Football News reports that Chelsea and City are showing a strong interest in Elliot.


Drinkwater in no rush to go, Telegraph say

Danny Drinkwater is in no rush to leave Chelsea even though he is not in Sarri’s plans, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The midfielder was tipped to leave during the summer transfer window and was linked with several clubs, but stayed put.

The Telegraph say Drinkwater earns around £100,000 a week and that Chelsea would find it difficult to find another club willing to match his wages.

Drinkwater is said to be willing to wait until the end of the season if the right move does not come up when the transfer window reopens in January.


Batshuayi wants Chelsea return

Michy Batshuayi still wants to establish himself at Chelsea

In an interview with the The Times, Michy Batshuayi says he does not want to join Valencia on a permanent basis.

Batshuayi, on loan at the Spanish club from Chelsea, says he is aiming to return to Stamford Bridge “a better player” and establish himself there.


Blues want Hazard’s brother, story claims

It’s claimed that another of Eden Hazard’s younger brothers could join Chelsea

Chelsea want Eden Hazard’s 15-year-old brother Ethan, it is claimed.

The teenager is currently on the books of local Belgian club AFC Tubize and the Mirror claimed he could be the fourth Hazard to be signed by Chelsea.

Another younger brother of Blues star Eden, 23-year-old Kylian, is on the club’s books, while Thorgan Hazard had a spell at Stamford Bridge before moving to Germany.


Ramsey still being linked

Chelsea continue to be linked with Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The Wales international’s contract at the Emirates Stadium is due to expire next summer and talks over a new deal have reportedly broken down.

Chelsea have long been linked with a move for Ramsey amid much speculation over his future.

The Express  have nevertheless claimed an ‘exclusive’ in declaring that Chelsea want to sign him.

The newspaper said Manchester United are also keen on Ramsey and that Arsenal will look for £25m for him in January rather than lose him on a free transfer at the end of the season.


Speculation over Morata’s future continues

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata continues to be linked with a return to Juventus.

The Sun have suggested he could be sold to the Turin club, where he spent two seasons on loan between 2014 and 2016.


Sun link Chelsea with Dutch youngster

The Sun claim Chelsea are leading a race to sign Dutch teenager Sam Lautenschutz.

The 15-year-old midfielder, who is with Dutch side Volendam, has been touted for a possible move to England by media reports in the Netherlands.

And The Sun claim Chelsea are ahead of Manchester City, Tottenham and Leicester in a battle to sign him.

Charlton are also reported to be interested and Ajax are said to be keeping tabs on the player.
