Fine and a warning for Chelsea boss

Jose Mourinho has been fined £8,000 and warned about his future conduct after being sent off in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa last month.

He went on to the pitch to speak to referee Chris Foy after Chelsea’s Ramires was shown a red card for a two-footed tackle on Villa’s Karim El Ahmadi – an incident that sparked a touchline fracas.

Mourinho denied an improper conduct charge and claimed he was trying to speak to Foy because Ramires was pushed by Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who had been substituted.

But the Chelsea boss was fined following a personal hearing with an independent regulatory commission on Wednesday.

He was critical of Foy after the match, even suggesting the official should not take charge of future Chelsea fixtures.

“Maybe it is helpful that the committee doesn’t send him to our matches,” said Mourinho.

“I don’t have the right to request that – I just think they have to analyse the situation and see. I think maybe it would be a good decision.”
