Transfer gossip: Keeper Pope again touted for Chelsea move

Transfer speculation involving Chelsea in Sunday’s newspapers.

Chelsea are again being linked with Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.

The England international was among the first keepers to be touted as a possible replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga at Stamford Bridge.

A host of others have since been linked with Chelsea amid speculation over Kepa’s future.

Pope’s name is now back in the mix, with the Daily Star Sunday declaring that Chelsea want him and are stepping up efforts to sign him this summer.

Kepa has been dropped by Blues boss Frank Lampard, who is expected to offload him and bring in a new keeper before next season.

Havertz deal ‘could be today’

Chelsea also continue to be linked with Kai Havertz.

The Germany winger has reportedly made it clear he wants to leave Bayer Leverkusen.

And comments by Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz have led to reports that a deal for Havertz to move to west London could be imminent.

Bosz was quoted as saying: “Perhaps the crucial call will come today, maybe next week, maybe not at all.”

The Sun on Sunday have therefore suggested that Chelsea could wrap up Havertz’s signing today.
