Hazard injury fears allayed after Chelsea win

Eden Hazard was outstanding for Chelsea again

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been assured that an injury Eden Hazard picked up against Brighton is not a cause for alarm.

Hazard was outstanding in the Blues’ 2-1 victory, scoring one of their goals and creating the other.

But he was limping as he was substituted late on after picking up a knock.

However, Sarri said: “Eden is OK. It’s only a knock. I spoke with the doctor and the doctor told me it’s not a big problem.

“He maybe needs one day to rest, two days maximum.”

Hazard again led Chelsea’s attack as Sarri opted to play without an out and out striker.

The Belgian ran Brighton ragged during a one-sided first half, but Chelsea had to withstand second-half pressure after Solly March pulled a goal back for the Seagulls.

“For us he could be very important for us in that position, He is very able to play with his team-mates and create spaces,” Sarri said.

“We played very well for 60 minutes and conceded a goal at a moment when we were in full control of the match.

“We had to suffer in the last five minutes with long balls into the box. We are not a physical team.”
