Chelsea youngster Mason Mount scored the winner on his England Under-21 debut to give them a 2-1 victory over Latvia.

Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham equalised for the visitors as they came from behind to win the Under-21 European Championship qualifier.

Jake Clarke-Salter and Fikayo Tomori, also of Chelsea, started the game too, while Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon came on as a second-half substitute.

Mount, on loan at Derby County, enhanced his growing reputation with an excellent display for the Young Lions.

He set up Abraham’s goal five minutes before half-time by crossing for the striker to head home.

And Mount found the net with 17 minutes remaining, firing home after being set up by former Chelsea man Dominic Solanke.
