Blow for Di Matteo as defenders are ruled out of cup final

Chelsea defenders David Luiz and Gary Cahill have been ruled out of the FA Cup final against Liverpool.

Both players trained earlier this week and were hoping to recover from hamstring problems in time for Saturday’s game.

But they did not take part in Friday morning’s session and will not be involved at Wembley.

The news is a blow for boss Roberto Di Matteo, who is hoping they return for the Blues’ Champions League final against Bayern Munich in Germany.
