Rafael Benitez has dismissed talk of a rift with Chelsea captain John Terry.
Interim manager Benitez has consistently suggested that Terry, who suffered a knee injury earlier in the season, is unable to play in every game because of the team’s punishing schedule.
But the defender this week made it clear that he believes he is fit enough to be a regular choice.
However, Benitez said: “I have seen the comments [by Terry]. We agree 100%.
“Everybody wants to win and wants to see the team reach the Champions League next season.
“And he said he can understand if I pick another player and that he will be the first one to support the team, so we agree that is the right thing to do.
“He’s training and is fine. If I pick him it is because I think he is fine. If not, it is because I think maybe a team-mate is better for this game.”
Benitez added: “What I said the other day and can repeat now is that we have a lot of games to be played and we have to be sure everyone can give 100%.”
