Abramovich urged to seek emerging manager, Telegraph say

There continues to be speculation over the future of Antonio Conte, with Chelsea widely tipped to replace him with a new manager.

Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri is the latest man to be touted as Chelsea’s first choice to take over – Thursday’s Daily Mail declares that the club are keen to install him this summer.

Several others have previously been touted as the Blues’ top choice, including former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, Juventus’ Max Allegri and ex-Barcelona boss Luis Enrique.

However, according to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is being urged to consider a new approach.

The Telegraph’s story claims that allies of the Russian believe the club should try to identity an emerging manager rather than appoint another established big name.

There has been speculation over Conte’s future since last summer

Conte, whose contract at Stamford Bridge runs until next year, has insisted that he plans to stay on.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claim Chelsea will demand £50m to sell Michy Batshuayi.

It comes after reports in Germany suggested Borussia Dortmund, where Batshuayi impressed while on loan before suffering an ankle injury, are keen to sign him on a permanent basis.

  • Let content be given power to buy players of his choicell and not just in passing on him otherwise he is one of the best coaches in the world so let management think about that

  • I think what chelsea really needs to first review their transfer policy, then give the manager the power to select what he wants for the team. The transfers the season has clearly shown that Chelsea could not attract any quality player rather quantity of players. Yes, some players need to move on such as Fabregas,Cahill, thibualt, Conte has his own faults, he is poor in team start up and poor in timing and substitutes, for me even if Conte should leave I will rather a Spanish side manager and indont dislike any manager. All I want for Chelsea is to play good football, play with passion, give big teams a run for their money, make Stamford bridge a refuge and make the fans happy at All time,Up Blues

  • I think the FA decision to punish Alonso retrospectively is biased. Look back at Chelsea vs Spurs game, did they see what happened to Cesc or Hazard?
Justice is not serve in this manor.

  • Maybe changing coaches at Chelsea fit them, but I believe with this attitude, the youths will not be promoted. Because every new coach will fear the sack so they will always want an established player.
Mentain Conte and give him the power to see. Despite the ups and downs, he never critized his players. I foresee more opportunities for the youth under this man next season

  • Firing Conte is not the solution. Give him more power to buy players he wants. Don't impose players who cannot play his style

  • Sarri is the good fit for the job....he is much welcome to Chelsea with his attacking football

  • the best for Chelsea as a big evolving club is to maintain a coach and give him the chances of buying players. if Chelsea continue to sack Conte, they stand a chance of not getting coaches in their next coach sack.
the problem at Chelsea is not Conte. four players need to leave the club. hazard, Pedro, fabregas and cotouir should leave the club but Conte should stay.
if the board continue to buy players for coaches at Chelsea, the club will go back to championship. also, there will be a time the club wouldn't get a coach to sign.
maintain Conte but loss some of your powers for him to buy the players who can play his style of game

  • Is it not time Chelsea stayed with a good manager for 10 years for holistic progress of the team and the club
