Chelsea have sacked manager Antonio Conte two years into his three-year contract.

The Blues won the Premier League title during the Italian’s first season in charge in 2016-17 and last season won the FA Cup for the eighth time in their history.

A short statement on the club website confirmed the club had “parted company” with the 48-year-old.

“We wish Antonio every success in his future career,” it added.

Former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is in line to take over at Stamford Bridge and appears to be close to being confirmed as the new manager.
