Gray can make it to the top, says boss

Brentford manager Mark Warburton believes that in-form striker Andre Gray has the quality to play in the Premier League.

Gray, signed from Luton in the summer, took his tally to four goals in three games by scoring twice in a 3-2 win at Millwall.

And Warburton said: “This is the best I’ve seen him play. Since his goal at Derby he’s been a revelation.

“He can play in the Premier League – I’ve got no doubts about that. He’s just turned 23 so there’s loads more to come.

“He takes a risk, he works defenders, he comes short, he goes long, he runs the channels, he’s improving his touch, he’s got an eye for goal, he’s raw, hungry and quick – and he wants to learn.

“To think he was playing Conference football last year and to see where he is now is testament to his ability and the work he has done.

“He came to us during our pre-season training camp in Florida and he looked miles off the pace in terms of fitness and technical ability but he’s come on leaps and bounds.”
