Bees set to offer Field new deal

Brentford are set to offer left-back Tom Field a new two-year contract.

The 19-year-old is considered by the club to be ready to replace Jake Bidwell, who is poised to join QPR.

Field, a product of the Bees’ now defunct academy, signed a development-squad contract until 2017 last November but is expected to sign his first professional deal in the coming weeks.

He impressed in his first senior appearance, against Fulham towards the end of last season, and will join the first-team squad on their pre-season training camp in Germany between 9 and 13 July.
