Lewis-Potter’s goal gives Brentford deserved point against Arsenal
Brentford 1

Arsenal 1Madueke (61′)
Keane Lewis-Potter’s equaliser earned Brentford a deserved point in a thrilling match against the Premier League leaders.
Lewis-Potter netted 10 minutes after former Chelsea man Noni Madueke had put Arsenal ahead.
Brentford put the Gunners under plenty of pressure, especially in the first half, when former Bees keeper David Raya produced a superb save to keep out Igor Thiago’s header.
Arsenal were better after the interval, though, and Madueke broke the deadlock just after the hour mark by heading home Piero Hincapie’s cross at the far post.
Lewis-Potter missed a great chance to equalise, heading Mathias Jensen’s corner wide of the target despite being unchallenged.
But Lewis-Potter made amends a few minutes later by heading home after Michael Kayode’s long throw had been headed on by Sepp van den Berg.
Arsenal seemed fortunate not to be reduced to 10 men late on when Gabriel escaped a second yellow card after fouling Dango Ouattara – and they had another let-off when Thiago fired over in stoppage time.
The draw means Brentford remain seventh in the table, now five points behind fourth-placed Manchester United and four behind fifth-placed Chelsea.
