Brentford in Ghoddos talks with Dervisoglu lined up

Brentford are this morning hoping to agree personal terms with Saman Ghoddos (pictured) and complete a deal to sign him from French club Amiens.

The Iran forward, 25, is negotiating with the Bees ahead of today’s transfer deadline.

A number of other forwards have been identified as possible back-up options, including Sparta Rotterdam youngster Halil Dervişoğlu.

The Netherlands-born Dervişoğlu, 19 and of Turkish descent, helped his side win promotion to the Dutch top flight last season.

Dervişoğlu, a Turkey Under-19 international, has attracted interest from several clubs and could end up at Griffin Park by this afternoon.

Charlton’s Kyle Taylor was also pursued but an offer was rejected by the Addicks.

Brentford are looking to bring in a replacement for Neal Maupay, who has joined Brighton in a £20m deal.

The striker they most wanted was Basel’s Switzerland international Albian Ajeti.

But Ajeti has been holding out for a move to the Premier League and is set to sign for West Ham.
