QPR’s Fer fails medical at Sunderland

Leroy Fer’s proposed move to Sunderland is off after the QPR midfielder failed a medical.

The 25-year-old was on the verge of completing a season-long loan move to the Stadium of Light.

Fer, who arrived at Loftus Road from Norwich a year ago, has been widely tipped to leave following Rangers’ relegation.

West Ham have also expressed an interest in the Dutchman, who is keen to return to the Premier League.
