Duff unlikely to play again this season

Fulham’s Damien Duff is likely to be out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The 35-year-old has been struggling with the problem for a number of weeks and may require surgery.

He has not featured since the Whites were knocked out of the FA Cup by Sheffield United on 4 February.

Manager Felix Magath said: “Damien’s injury is worse. We have to expect that he will not play any more this season.

“The problem is his knee – an injury from three weeks ago which he had before I arrived here – and maybe he needs an operation.”

Magath also revealed that midfielder Scott Parker will be unavailable for Saturday’s vital clash with fellow strugglers Cardiff, also because of a knee injury.

The German explained: “Parker injured his knee in training. It’s not so bad but he can’t play on Saturday.”

Defender Fernando Amorebieta also remains sidelined with a muscle problem, while January signings Kostas Mitroglou and William Kvist will be assessed ahead of the game after picking up hamstring problems on international duty.
