Bond blames QPR’s poor passing after loss

Assistant manager Kevin Bond bemoaned QPR’s sloppy passing following the 2-0 defeat at Burnley.

Rangers lost their unbeaten record as Danny Ings scored twice to send the league leaders three points clear at the top.

The hosts played with much more energy than Rangers, pressing high up the pitch to stop Harry Redknapp’s men playing out from the back.

Bond said: “Credit to Burnley. They stopped us from playing today, which we knew they would.

Rangers were well beaten at Turf Moor.

“They worked extremely hard and we were disappointed that we were unable to play through that.

“When we did get on the ball we gave it away unnecessarily.”

Ings’ opening goal summed up Rangers’ shortcomings in a game Burnley thoroughly deserved to win.

Karl Henry squandered possession inside his own half and Ings netted after linking up nicely with Sam Vokes.

“We gave the ball away in a bad area for the goal,” Bond admitted.

“At that time we were coming back into the game but within two passes the ball was in the back of our net.

“Giving the ball away in your own half of the field is disappointing. Everybody is disappointed with that.

“Throughout the game our handling of the ball wasn’t as good as we’re used to.”
