Chelsea’s Mudryk appeals against four-year ban

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) after being given a four-year ban by the Football Association.

The Ukraine international, 25, has not played since a provisional suspension was imposed in December 2024 after an “adverse finding in a routine urine test”.

He was charged in June 2025 and the maximum four‑year ban has been confirmed, prompting Mudryk to challenge the ruling.

An appeal has now been lodged with Cas in Switzerland.

The player denies knowingly using a banned substance.

In a statement after the adverse finding was announced, he wrote on social media: “This has come as a complete shock as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.”

“I know that I have not done anything wrong and remain hopeful that I will be back on the pitch soon.”

Chelsea signed Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk for £85m in January 2023. He has made 53 Premier League appearances, 27 of them as a substitute.
