Brookes returns to Middlesex after injury cuts loan spell short
Middlesex seamer Henry Brookes has returned to the club for treatment after a hamstring injury cut short his loan spell with Gloucestershire.
The 26-year-old had joined the Division Two side on a short-term deal covering five matches. However, he sustained the injury while bowling during Gloucestershire’s recent 10-wicket victory over Derbyshire.
Brookes made two appearances during his brief stint away from Lord’s, with his most notable contribution being a career-best 89 at number nine during the win at Derby. That performance helped secure Gloucestershire’s first red-ball win at the ground since 2019.
He will now miss Gloucestershire’s upcoming County Championship fixtures against Kent and Northamptonshire as he begins his rehabilitation with the Middlesex medical team.
In a statement on their website, Gloucestershire thanked the bowler for his efforts and commitment during his time with the club, adding that they “wish him a full and speedy recovery.”
