Cook offered coaching role at QPR
Steve Cook has been offered a coaching role at QPR.
The veteran defender, 35, is set to make his 100th and final appearance for the club in Tuesday’s home match against Swansea.
His contract at Loftus Road expires this summer and he will not be getting a new deal.
The club announced on Monday that Cook will depart.
However, he has been given the chance to stay at Rangers as part of the Under-21s’ coaching staff.
Cook will consider his options and faces a decision on whether to continue playing.
But an agreement in principle is in place for him to take the QPR coaching position if he does not extend his playing career.
There is a vacancy, Cook expressed an interest in the role, and his ambitions for his coaching career impressed Rangers bosses.
