West London Eagles’ women’s side seal top spot

West London Eagles’ women’s team produced a superb finish to the regular season in the English South Premier Handball League, sealing top spot with a convincing 28-14 victory over local rivals Olympia and maintaining their unbeaten record.

Attention now turns to a busy and exciting May schedule. The Eagles will face Loughborough in the English Cup final on Saturday 2 May at Stoke Mandeville (16:30), before competing in the League Final 4 on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May in Leyton.

The objectives are clear: get silverware and secure qualification for the British Super Cup.

There was also success at youth level, with both the Eagles’ Under-16 girls and Under-16 boys teams recording convincing victories in their South of England play-off matches to qualify for their respective National League Final Fours.

The girls will compete on Saturday 2 May, with the boys in action the following day.

The England Handball Federation has scheduled a series of showcase finals events.

Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury will host the Under-16 Final 4s, Under-19 finals and Senior Cup finals on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 May,

Leyton Score Centre in East London will host Final 4s for the Senior League on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May.

West London Eagles will be aiming to add further silverware to their trophy cabinet.
