Rosenior insists he has the backing of Chelsea’s owners

Liam Rosenior insists he feels “100%” supported by Chelsea’s hierarchy as he looks to arrest a disappointing run of results ahead of a massive week for the club.

The Blues face a trip to Brighton on Tuesday night before an FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United at Wembley on Sunday.

Despite a recent slide that has left Chelsea seven points adrift of the Champions League places, Rosenior insists the dialogue with owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali remains positive.

“They’ve been supportive of me,” Rosenior said.

“In our daily conversations, with the sporting directors involved as well, they’ve been magnificent in their support of me and the team.

“We know we need to win games of football in the ‘now’, but that doesn’t go against what we’re trying to do, which is give success—consistent success—to this club long-term.”

The head coach’s comments follow recent public backing from the ownership, who have reiterated their commitment to the “project” while also hinting at a shift toward adding more experience to the squad in the summer.

Rosenior added: “I can assure you we’ve had many conversations from when I joined in January about what this club needs now and in the future.

“Behdad made it very clear; he wants consistent trophies and success. We are all very aligned in what we have to do to get this club back to where it should be.”

Chelsea’s recent performances have been statistically dominant — creating more shots than any other Premier League side since March — but a lack of clinical finishing and defensive lapses have proven costly.

Rosenior admitted that while the “process” is important, the immediate demand for results at Stamford Bridge is unavoidable.

“As a coach, you have to work to the process because you believe it works in the end, but in this moment, we need to win a game of football,” he said.

“It’s the fundamental. That’s what this club demands. Data is one thing, but the most important statistic is the result.”

Looking ahead to the double-header against Brighton and Leeds, Rosenior concluded: “It’s a massive week. It’s what you’re in football for.

“We have a huge game tomorrow night and then an FA Cup semi-final against a Leeds team in form. Now is the time for us to deliver.”

Chelsea will make a late decision on the fitness of Joao Pedro ahead of Tuesday’s game, while Estevao Willian has been ruled out.
