Chelsea well beaten by title-chasing Man City
Chelsea 0
Man City 3O’Reilly (51′)
Guehi (57′)
Doku (68′)
Marc Guehi scored against his former club as Chelsea suffered a third consecutive Premier League defeat.
Nico O’Reilly and Jeremy Doku also netted for title-chasing Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, where all the goals came in the second half.
O’Reilly opened the scoring by shrugging off Andrey Santos to head in Rayan Cherki’s right-wing cross.
And Cherki superbly created the second goal, dribbling across the edge of the penalty area and playing a lovely pass through to Guehi, who side-footed into the far corner.
Worse followed for Chelsea when keeper Robert Sanchez rolled the ball out to Moises Caicedo, who was immediately pounced upon by Cherki and Doku, with the latter taking the ball and firing home.
Liam Rosenior’s side have now lost five of their past six matches in all competitions – the other game being an FA Cup win against League One strugglers Port Vale.
Chelsea remain sixth in the table, four points behind fifth-placed Liverpool and a point ahead of Brentford in seventh.
