QPR suffer fourth consecutive defeat

Birmingham 1
Roberts (6′)
QPR 0

QPR’s dismal run continued with a defeat at Birmingham, making it four consecutive losses and games without a goal.

Patrick Roberts’ early goal was enough to secure the points for the hosts – and was assisted by all-too familiar poor Rangers defending.

Ibrahim Osman got away from Amadou Mbengue with ease and crossed for Roberts to apply the finish.

The home side continued to dominate, and keeper Joe Walsh saved from Osman and Roberts before the latter’s corner was headed against the woodwork by Ethan Laird.

Rangers were slightly better in the second half but still struggled to create chances.

A morsel of positive news for them was the encouraging return of Kwame Poku after two months out.

Poku was lively after coming on as a second-half substitute and sent a late strike narrowly wide.

QPR: Walsh, Mbengue, Dunne, Cook (Norrington-Davies 58), Clarke-Salter (Hayden 79); Edwards, Varane (Morgan 46); Vale, Saito (Kolli 46), Smyth (Poku 70), Kone.
Subs not used: Hamer, Smith, Adamson, Bennie.
