Chelsea confirm departure of Green
Chelsea have confirmed that Paul Green has left his role as the club’s head of women’s football after 13 years in the job.
Green worked closely with former manager Emma Hayes as Chelsea won five Women’s Super League titles.
He also held the role of interim manager in Hayes’ absence in 2022 when she had emergency hysterectomy surgery.
In a statement, Chelsea said Green: “Played a significant role in the development and growth of the women’s programme” and “contributed to the establishment of strong foundations and the evolution of Chelsea Women into one of the leading teams in the domestic and European game”.
Chelsea won 19 trophies in total during Green’s spell at the club.
He was largely involved in recruitment, but his departure comes after co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley have become increasingly involved on the women’s side.
