Chelsea winger Gittens faces lengthy spell out with hamstring injury
Chelsea wide-man Jamie Gittens faces a spell on the sidelines with a hamsting injury, Liam Rosenior has confirmed.
Gittens went off during the first half of the recent win against West Ham and a scan has shown he suffered a tear.
Pedro Neto and Reece James, who both missed this week’s Carabao Cup defeat against Arsenal, are doubts for Saturday’s game against Wolves.
Their injuries do not appear to be overly serious and they will be assessed on Friday.
But on Gittens, Rosenior explained: “Jamie is looking a little bit more long-term. He’s got a tear in his hamstring.
“That’s a real shame for him. I’ve not worked with him for too long, but I know about his career and what an outstanding player he is. So that’s going to be a big miss for us.”
